Hands on Activity - Percent error
This activity allows students to find the area of geometric shapes with error using different size candies. The students draw three different sized shapes on a blank piece of paper. Then, they compare the area of each shape to the number of candies they can contain in the shape without going beyond the shape's boundary to determine if the relationship is linear. Then, they the line of best fit and equations for those lines. After finding the equation of the linear regression line, the students will compare those two equations to find the percent error.
